FAQ How often should I have my car serviced?
DARCARS Lexus of Silver Spring recommends servicing your vehicle every 5000 miles or 4 months, whichever comes first.

Why do my brakes squeak?
Lexus uses a hard compound brake pad for extended brake life and better braking performance. Over time, these pads do begin to squeak due to the blend of pad. This has no impact on stopping power or braking system.

What is the warranty on my Lexus?
For new vehicles, 4 years or 50,000 miles (whichever comes first) bumper to bumper, excluding wear items such as brakes and tires; and 6 years or 70,000 miles for powertrain. For Certified Pre-Owned Lexus purchased after May 1st 1998, limited warranty of 3 years from date of purchase or 100,000 total miles on odometer.

What is the normal wait for a service appointment if I need a loaner car?
Our service department has 80 Lexus loaner cars for service customers. However, due to scheduling and high demand, the normal wait is 7 to 10 days.

Do I need an appointment for service?
Yes, in order to make service visits convenient and less time consuming for you, an appointment is required. Please feel free to use our on-line Service Appointment form.

What do I do to keep my warranty in effect?
Simply have the scheduled maintenance completed. Keep all receipts, should you have work done somewhere other than your Lexus dealer.

What should I do if warning or engine lights come on?
